Ramanathan, who is ranked 211th on the ATP Tour, next plays Kamil Majchrzak of Poland.
Ramanathan came through qualifiers to reach this stage at the ATP Challenger Tour event. In the final qualifying, he defeated top-seeded Polish player Kacper Zuk 6-3, 6-7(1), 6-1.
