Indian Girl Crowned as the ASIAN 14/U Champion

AN INDIAN GIRL CROWNED AS THE ASIAN 14/U CHAMPION
Adnya Naik (IND) and Master ALCANTARA, Francis Casey (PHI) were crowned the Asian U/14 champions in the girls' and boy's category respectively.
The year long Asian U/14 Series sponsored by Australian Open consisting of 19 tournaments culminated in the Asian 14/U Championship held at Delhi from 28 Nov to 2 Dec 2005. Top ranked eight boys & girls were selected to go to Australia to play the ATF 14/U Series Masters Finals and decide the champions.
Out of a total of 16 kids 4 boys and 1 girl were from India.
The Masters Finals were held from 29 th to 31 st December 2005 at Melbourne Park, Melbourne, Australia.

The above players will also participate in the Optus 14/U National Teams Event (Australia, New Zealand, Asia) 3-8 Jan, Australian National 14/U championships 9-15 Jan both at Gosford and Ambassadors Cup 18 - 20 Jan at Kooyong. They will also witness the Australia Open matches at Melbourne.
