The Indian Under 14 Boys Tennis Team has a wonderful two weeks, starting with the Preparatory Camp In new Delhi 30th March 2013 all the way till the 13th April 2013. I present to you a brief report on the tournament results and Team India's phenomenal performance at the Asia/Oceania World Junior Tennis Competition (Final Qualifying)- Kuching, Malaysia 2013. This maybe the first time India has entered the finals of this tournament.

The performance, team spirit, discipline and co-operation has been phenomenal. The past week has truly shown our young team as a world class unit.

Coming into the above tournament as 2nd seeds, India topped the group beating

Indonesia- 3:0, Phillipines- 3:0 and Korea 3:0 in the group play offs. Although the score line looks easy, the matches were tough.

India then met Chinese Taipei in the knock out Quarter finals beating them 3:0. The Semi Finals against Japan was memorable with the same scoreline 3:0.

In the finals against Australia we went down fighting and lost both the singles in 2 very close 3 set matches.

Alex Solanki and Nitin Sinha played some excellent tennis right through the tournament supported by Vasisht Cheruku

FINAL SCORES:

Australia beat India 2-0. Alex Solanki lost to Alex De Minaur 6-2,  4-6, 3-6 and Nitin Sinha lost to Alexei Popyrin 6-2, 2-6, 3-6.
