India finishes 5th, beat China 2-1

Sumit Nagal gave a tremendous start for India winning the first match against Su - Hao Zhong 6-2, 6-3. Sumit probably played the match of his life today by breaking Zhong twice in each set. Sumit took advantage of the opportunity and produced his best Tennis today.
Indian No. 1 Sahil Deshmukh started off on a positive note against the Chinse No. 1 Xu – Fan Zhou by breaking him in the first game. Unfortunate for him as with a borrowed racket for next few games where he lost his rhythm the Chinese capitalized and won the match.
In the decider, Indians were quickly up 6-4, 3-0 when again the rain interruption the match and delayed the proceedings by 45 min.
Due to heavy rains the match was shifted to the other court. Momentum was lost and India lost 5 games in a row and go down 3-5 in the 2nd set.
In the 3 rd set, anything could happen. After losing 5 games on a trot, but Sumit & Sahil kept their nerves, as each of them hit a winner down the line on the big serving Su-Hao Zhou's serves in the 9 th game in the first two points. Which helped them fire up and they went on to win 4 games in a row to complete the match in 90 min.
With this victory, India placed amongst the top 5 nations in Boys under 14 event.
