India beat Argentina, will play China for the 5th position

Today, India won both the singles matches against the South American finalists Argentina to clinch the tie and set up a stage to play China tomorrow for the 5 th place in the World Junior Tennis F inals at Prostejov, Czech Republic.
Indian No. 2 Sumit Nagal gave a good start winning a relatively easy match against the Argentian No. 2 Wenceslao Albin 6-2 6-4.
Sahil Deshmukh had a tough time, winning his match against Juan Pablo Ficovich 7-5, 3-6 6-3.
After winning both the singles, India conceded the doubles. Tomorrow, India will play China for the 5th place. China on the other hand beat the 6th seed France 2-1 to set up a clash against India.
India have beaten China twice in the Asia Oceania zone at Kuching, Malaysia during May this year.
Korea and Japan have moved to finals of the championship. |
