Savio and Tanya win
(AITA Talent Series Tournament, Bangalore)

It was another successful weekend for Anthony Savio and Tanya Singh, they won the boys' and girls' under-16 singles titles in the AITA Talent series tennis tournament at the KSLTA courts.

Last week, both had won the titles at the Bowring Institute event.

Savio with his strong forehand returns, had the measure of Nesar Jewoor at 6-3, 6-3 in the boys' under-16 final, but Tanya Singh struggled to put down a spirited challenge from Ann Christine Nilson in the girls' final at 6-4, 3-6, 7-5.

In the under-14 section, Vasudev Vijay Raman defeated Samyukth Balaji 6-4, 2-6, 6-3 in final, while Shikha N. Singh stunned the fancied Shivani Manjanna in a hard fought three setter at 6-2, 4-6, 7-6(5) and won the girls' under-14 title.

Results (finals): Boys: U-16: Anthony Savio bt Nesar Jewoor 6-3, 6-3. U-14: Vasudev Vijay Raman (TN) bt Samyukth Balaji (TN) 6-4, 2-6, 6-3.

Girls: U-16: Tanya Singh bt Ann Christine Nilson 6-4, 3-6, 7-5. U-14: Shikha N. Singh bt Shivani Manjanna 6-2, 4-6, 7-6(5).
