Mithun stuns Vignesh
(AITA Ranking tournament, Kochi)

Mithun Murali upset the top-seeded P.C. Vignesh 6-7(2), 6-3, 7-5 in the men’s semifinal of the Lotus Trophy AITA tennis tournament.

Meanwhile, in the women’s section, Sansita Nandakumar and Gopika Kapoor will fight for the title.

Results (semifinals):

Men’s singles: Mithun Murali (TN) bt P.C. Vignesh (AP) 6-7 (2), 6-3, 7-5.

Doubles: Mithun Murali / Vijay Sunder Prasanth (TN) bt Rishab Dev Raman / Mohit Mayur (TN) 3-6, 6-3, 10-8.

Women’s singles: Sansita Nandakumar (TN) bt Amreen Choudhary (U.P.) 6-0, 6-3; Gopika Kapoor (Del) bt Preethi Sreenivasan (TN) 6-0, 6-2.
