Vishnu in last eight
($10,000 ITF Men's Futures, Malaysia)

Vishnu Vardhan defeated the seventh-seeded Jae-Sung An of Korea 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 in the pre-quarterfinals of the $10,000 ITF men’s Futures tennis tournament in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia.

Vishnu will challenge the top-seeded Luigi D’Agord of Italy in the quarterfinals.

The other Indian left in the fray, National champion V.M. Ranjeet, who had come through the qualifying event, lost 4-6, 3-6 to Phillip King of the U.S. in the pre-quarterfinals.

In the doubles quarterfinals, the second-seeded Divij Sharan and Vishnu Vardhan beat compatriots Vivek Shokeen and Ranjeet 7-6(1), 3-6, 10-5.

However, the top-seeded Mohammad Al Ghareeb of Kuwait and Rohan Gajjar gave a walk-over to Arnau Brugues-Davi of Spain and D’Agord.
